Our under 14s brought the cup home from the Annual Newton St Cyres Tournament on a rain swept day of drama. Both Exmouth Utd teams did well in the group games with the āRaidersā team drawing with Central, striker Charlie Rogers on fire with goals throughout and James Sharkey pulling off fine saves in goal. Despite a defeat against Torquay Academy our āTrojansā team thrashed Culm Sampford, drew with Culm Valley and beat hosts Newton St Cyres to progress to the semi-finals. Bayley Barnes was rattling in goals including a long range free-kick.
We took the game to regular Division 1 champions Central and with Leo Burton and Noah
Hitchmough creating chaos with their skill and tricks. Richard Kew was sharp in goal as we beat them 2-1 for a place in the Final. Our boys faced Torquay Academy School and with Joe Goodall playmaking and Harry Hitchmough steadfast and dominant in defence we wanted the win more. Guts and determination in the mud and rain was typified by Charlie Tate and we lifted the Cup with a 2-1 win. A great day of football for our squads at Newton St Cyres FC.
