Welcome to Exmouth United Football Club. We are a youth football club based in Exmouth, Devon. We cater for children and young people from the ages of 6 up to 18. If you would like further information about the club or would like to give your child a chance to play and enjoy football then please visit the Teams page for more information on the relevant age group.

Despite unprecedented times and the still uncertain future, the club is determined to grow and continue to provide the children and young people of Exmouth and the surrounding areas footballing opportunities in a fun and safe environment.

This is what our Managers said about the 2022-2023 season:
 

Under 10 girls

The main aim this year was to build on the previous season by being more competitive in the newly formed league. A brilliant squad of 16 enthusiastic players saw us compete to a high standard, going on to win the league cup for the second year running.

The girls have grown in strength and confidence but have most importantly developed into a well rounded team and formed some lovely friendships. Our main aim is to be inclusive and create a fun environment for everyone and I believe our success on the pitch is mainly down to this. The girls have been lucky enough to be match day mascots for exeter city ladies again this season. The team are an absolute pleasure to coach and i'm so pleased all their hard work has been rewarded this season. 
 

Under 10s mixed
Exmouth united u10s have had a very competitive final year at 7 aside, with many close and exciting games.
We have spent most of our friendly games experiencing 9 aside formats, focusing on new roles, rules and looking at new ideas. The main focus every season has been team work, and they have conducted themselves impeccably.

U11s (mixed)
 

The U11s were a new team that started the season with just enough players to fulfil.fixtures New players quickly joined with some having not played much football previously. However with a committed coaching set- up,with four of the coaches ending the season as FA Level One badge holders, the players began to find their feet and mid-way through the season it all clicked with what was being practised on the training ground being transferred to the games There was a new-found belief that we had the basis of a very good team, one that we could build on. We are fortunate to have the players and parents who share that optimism and belief.
 

One of the most pleasing aspects of the season is how the players themselves have formed such a great bond and how they have all worked hard to better themselves as both footballers and young men. They listen and take in what is being said to them in training and all are a credit to the football club. They play with obvious determination, but win- or-lose they have a smile on their faces. Our main ethos was to have players who, whilst aiming to be continually improving and competitive, do so whilst enjoying their football.’

U12 Girls – Lionesses

 

An unforgettable season for our girls, winning the Devon Girls Football League & Cup double! The team has worked really hard to pull together some amazing performances and fully deserve their rewards. There were a few changes to the squad this season with the creation of the Leopardesses, but we gelled together well and settled with a squad of 14. Team spirit and togetherness grew through the season and the girls love spending time together away from training & matches. We had great Christmas and End of Season Parties as well as 3 trips to watch Exeter City Women in action.

 

That bond continues to grow through the summer with plenty of tournaments planned. Then preparations will begin for next season, where we will need to battle hard to defend our titles. A great season with a fantastic group and looking forward to continuing our development & enjoyment of football together.

Exmouth United U12 Girls – Leopardesses
 

The Leopardesses were created to provide opportunities for more girls to play football. Many had little or no football experience but were so excited to have the opportunity for regular training and fixtures. That enthusiasm led to a remarkable development through the season. The team started with some heavy defeats, but they remained focused in training and worked hard to improve.

 

Mid-season saw some inconsistency in performances, but by the end of the season the girls weren't happy to just be playing anymore, they wanted to compete! We managed to secure a place in the DGFL end of season mini leagues. They exceeded expectations with their performances, winning and claiming the League two title. 18 girls playing, who otherwise probably wouldn't get the opportunity is a huge positive for the town!
We're so proud of this team and are really excited to see their development continue as they join the DGFL for the first time next season.

Under 12s (mixed)
 

U12s moved to competitive league football for the first time this season, being placed in Division 1 with the best teams in the area. It was a highly competitive league with 8 teams out of 10 all being able to beat each
other on the day. The team played brilliantly in the first half of the season and were in 3rd place at Christmas having beaten the eventual league winners in a superb performance. The second half of the season proved to be more challenging with player availability affecting some games and the team finished the year in a creditable 6th place.
A great year and one which every player, parent and coach should be proud of.

U13s (Mixed)
It was a tough season for the under 13’s, after losing several players to the Junior Premier League and Regional training centres. The boys heads were down before the season even started and so it was a case of
rebuilding that previous confidence. But following some hard fought battles, the team have achieved staying in Div 1 next season.
What was always impressive to see was that we never gave up, always tried our hardest and gave 100%, and no coach can ask for more than that. We are hoping to find some new players for the coming season to try to return that confidence and team spirit, and areall are looking forward to pre-season.

Under 15s – United
Exmouth Under 15s enjoyed a very successful season following promotion to Division 1. Eight players from our 2021/22 squad, welcomed six additional players to form the new Division 1 squad. 
During an early pre-season meeting, the players agreed three key goals for the season:
 

1: Having fun 
2: Being competitive 
3: Playing with friends and making new ones. 
 

These goals were achieved in every match, which resulted in an excellent first season in Division 1, a strong cup run and a series of highly competitive friendlies against strong opposition, including two great matches against our under 16s. 
The squad have done the club proud, which a superb attitude and commitment throughout the season. They have been a pleasure to coach.’’
 

Under 15s – RED
 

At the beginning of the 22/23 season we made a difficult decision to split our under 15s squad into two separate teams. 
We had a number of players capable of playing in the highest division and who would flourish under the challenge of this but we also had other players that would benefit from dropping down a division and developingat their own rate.  I would be lying if I said it was smooth sailing but overall it has been a great success and we have managed to give football to over 30 young lads throughout.  Both teams competed to the highest of their abilities and we are looking forward to the new

Under 16s season and giving these lads the best last year of youth football, we can. 

Under 16s

The Under 16s enjoyed their best ever season, with several boys in the team enjoying over 7 years at our club. We developed 19 players this year and the whole squad contributed to the enjoyment and excitement throughout. Playing again in Division 1, the team benefitted immensely from the arrival of our UEFA B Licensed Coach as Assistant Manager.
He was immensely helpful, helping the manager construct weekly training sessions where we asked for greater levels of focus from the players, while maintaining the element of fun. There is no doubt that the work he put in resulted in a higher level of technical performance throughout the team. The Captain and Vice-Captain once again helped the Manager by giving inspirational team talks before and after each match and the players responded with renewed determination on match days recording some excellent results, The team enjoyed a thrilling run all the way to the Cup Final where parents accompanied the team by coach to the stadium.
 

The team dramatically triumphed 2-1 on an unforgettable day with club Chairman, committee members and coaches kindly making the 2 hour round trip to bring support to the team for their last match for the club.
 

One of the boys is keen to continue with the club as a trainee coach. We have enjoyed seeing the boys becoming young men, playing exciting football with their mates and they all leave Exmouth United very much ready for under 18s and senior level football next season.’
